Respect in Sport for Parents:

As previously communicated, if you are registering for Lambeth Minor Hockey OMHA Boys teams, one family member MUST complete the 'Respect In Sport - Parents' certification by August 31st, 2014. Be sure to indicate your child's name in the registration process as the completion of the course is connected to each player's Hockey Canada Registration.  Players of parents who have not completed the course cannot be rostered to a hockey team and will therefore be ineligible to play.

Respect in Sport for Parents is a unique program and previous completion of other Respect in Sport Programs or Speak Out cannot be carried over to your Parent Profile. Please create a new profile and complete Respect in Sport for Parents.

Tyke Practice Times now Sunday mornings:

The Tyke practice times have been moved to Sunday mornings at either 8:00 am or 9:00 am for the 2014/2015 season.  Tykes will no longer be practicing at 4:30 pm on Monday or Tuesday.   Tyke hockey is scheduled to start September 27, 2014  - registrants will receive an email prior to first Tyke skate confirming date and times.  A complete tyke game and practice schedule will be posted on-line by October 1st, 2014.

Competitive Hockey Fees for 2014/2015:

Competitive Hockey Fee for 2014/2015 has been set at $125 per player. The competitive fee is largely required to pay for the additional ice used by Competitive/Rep teams throughout the season.   The fee of $125 is less than that paid by neighbouring centres with whom be based our comparison (Ingersoll $275, St. Thomas $275, Aylmer $200, and Oakridge MD $300). OMHA/Boys hockey players will be able to have this fee applied to the credit card used at time of registration. Details will be provided by team manager and this fee will be payable September 30, 2014.   Girls Hockey Competitive Fees will be collected by team managers and forwarded to the Girls Convenor  – due September 30th, 2014.  Girls Hockey Competitive Hockey Fee cheques are to be made out to Minor Hockey Association of Lambeth.

Competitive Team Player On-ice Development for 2014/2015 season:

New this season!  MHAL will be offering on-ice development sessions for Competitive teams on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings 7-8:00 am at the Lambeth Arena.  Sessions will be run by Trevor Gallant of TAG hockey.  Competitive teams (Boys Rep, AE and Girls Competitive) will be scheduled every other week on one of these days for approximately 6 sessions between October and December.  No additional fees will be charged for these sessions as it is covered in the $125 competitive fee.  Schedule is expected to be completed by early October.

Vulnerable Screening - Police Checks:

All Team Officials (bench staff including coaches, assistant coaches, trainers and managers) are required to have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) for Volunteer Purposes completed.  If you provided this last season you are not required to provide another, as MHAL will only require an updated check every 3 years.

If you live in the City Of London, your application can be completed on-line with the London Police.  A surge of applications occurs in early September which may delay processing times so if you require a check please complete the on-line application to ensure check is received as soon as possible.  For London Police see:   http://www.police.london.ca/d.aspx?s=/Services/Background_Checks/default.htm

An on-line application can be completed without a Volunteer Letter.  Should you require an Volunteer Letter from MHAL for in person application please email [email protected] to request a letter.

**When completing on-line registration pay particular attention to the three authentication questions required (Step 5).   These questions are based on your credit history – if you are unsure of an answer call your bank for verification – if you answer one of these questions wrong you will be required to go to the Police Station in person to authenticate your application.

If you live outside the City of London boundary you will need to obtain your PVSC from the OPP.  The London OPP Detachment (823 Exeter Rd., London) will be hosting a clinic for Lambeth Minor Hockey on Tuesday, October 7th from 4:00pm – 6:30pm.  If you live within OPP jurisdiction (not City of London) you can attend the Oct. 7th clinic and the OPP will process checks on the spot.  If fingerprints are required, OPP will have auxiliary members present to complete this process.  Please ensure to bring payment,  two pieces of ID, Volunteer letter from MHAL and application form.  Please email [email protected] to request a volunteer letter and a copy of the application form.

MHAL Team/Player Picture Day:

The Photographer is scheduled to take team/player pictures on Sunday, October 5th, 2014 at the Lambeth Community Centre.  The team time schedule will be posted on MHAL website closer to date.
