Pink In the Rink Raised $9,447.56 in 2015
On July 29, 2015 Karen DaSilva and Allison Campbell, organizers of Lambeth Minor Hockey Pink in the Rink games for the 2014-2015 season, proudly presented a cheque in the amount of $9,447.56 to Dr. Muriel Brackstone at St. Joesph’s hospital. This money was the total raised from 12 Pink in the Rink games through collection of gate fees, silent auctions and bake sales.

Our donation will help fund the Tumour Biobank at St. Joseph’s Hospital in hopes that one day a cure for breast cancer will be found. Dr. Brackstone developed this one of a kind tumour biobank as part of St. Joesph’s breast care program. The biobank enables breast cancer researchers to pinpoint which type of tumours respond best to specific drug therapies or timing of radiation treatments. Dr. Brackstone believes the biobank will expedite cancer research by ten years.

This donation would not have not been possible without the support of the coaches, team members, parents, and siblings who rallied together to make each Pink game a success.

The feedback we received was positive !!! Not only did the money go to a great cause but it also brought the community together.

We are happy to announce that the Pink in the Rink games will continue for the 2015-2016 Lambeth Minor Hockey season. We encourage all teams to participate. Stay tuned for further details.
