Novice Girls Hockey Changes for Next Season
For the upcoming 2019-2020 season, the Novice Girls age group (born in 2011 or 2012) will NOT have evaluations this spring.
In the coming months, we, as an organization, along with the leagues in our area (LLFHL and WOGHL) will determine how to transition to Hockey Canada’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) Model. All Girls' Minor Hockey associations are working through the same process for Novice.
As per Hockey Canada, initially practice and game ice will be split into cross ice and half ice hockey. Implementation of appropriate game scenarios and conversion to full ice are still being discussed.
All of those affected will be notified as soon as our Novice Girls structure has been determined.
