Bantam A takes Motown Tournament
The Bantam A team hit the ice in Motown last weekend and spoiled the Thanksgiving Day Weekend for several US teams.
Beginning just after noon on Black Friday, the Lancers handled the Team USA Eagles. Even though the boys had the upper hand most of the game, the difference in the game was a single goal. The Lancers won 2-1.
This game was followed by another in early evening against Team US Toledo. It was a bit more spirited affair but the Lancer penalty-kill kept Toledo off the scoreboard for most of the game. Final score was 3-2 in the Lancers favour.
Saturday provided us with a little Canadian competition with the team from Milton. Another spirited affair with both teams pushing their limits and sharing a 2-2 tie.
The Final put us back on the rink on Sunday against the Milton Winterhawks. Once again Lambeth seemd to have the upperhannd most of the game but were scoring challenged. Lambeth took the lead 1-0 then 2-0 before the Winterhawks stormed back to tie the game 2-2. Finally with just over a minute left in the game, Kyle McT. took control of the puck and went end-to-end to depost the winning goal!
