Tryout Information/Tryout Status Report...
In an effort to bring everyone up-to-speed, here is what we know now...
The Midget “A” team has more or less been selected, with the exception of 1-2 positions. (They are still awaiting word re the status of 1-2 players still away at AAA/AA camps. If the players in question are released back to Lambeth Minor Hockey, then those players will help to fill MHAL’s Midget “A” roster.
In turn, the Midget A team would release 1-2 more players -- to the “AE” team... with further cuts to the Midget House League/Local League team. Translation – all three teams are currently on ‘hold’ until further notice.
Making final cuts is an incredibly difficult process -- not only for the boys, but for those selecting the team. Please be patient over the next week or so. If you have any questions, please address the Coaching Staff directly. MHAL hopes to have this entire process wrapped-up by Wednesday, September 28th -- at the latest.
Although this process has taken a bit longer than normal (what with Harvestfest/the ice in Lambeth going in later than other Organizations), MHAL is doing everything possible to ice THREE MIDGET TEAMS this year – A, AE and HL/LL. The ‘extra time’ has allowed MHAL to find the necessary number of players to ice 3 full teams (It was either that, or we would’ve had 18-19 players on just 2 teams, resulting in reduced ice/playing time for all).
In the end, MHAL are attempting to make decisions in the best interest of the boys.
