Battle in Brydges
The Lancers took on their second undefeated team of the weekend, as they forded the Thames River into hostile Cougar territory. Three games in as many nights is a gruelling test for any athelete, and the Lancers showed True Grit by notching their 5th consecutive victory.

The first period provided a frantic pace with end to end action. Neither team managed to bulge the twine, as the referees let the boys skate with only 2 minor penalties assessed in the period.

The Cougars opened the scoring on a power play goal half way through the second frame. Nick Hilborn continued to show a hot hand as he evened the score with a short handed goal on a pass from Jarvis Millard. Less than a minute later Nick notched his second of the night, this time on a power play cross from Zach Waller. The Lancers took a commanding 3 - 1 lead shortly before the Zamboni hit the ice on a Jarvis Millard goal with Zach Waller and Dylan Nash getting the helpers.

The game appeared to be on ice when Kyle Mackay lit the red lamp early in the third on a feed from Cole Chilvers and Nick Larusso. It proved costly to count the Cougars out however, as they tallied twice in the 3rd period to draw within a goal with 4 minutes left to play. Mt. Brydges pullled the goalie in a frantic finish that saw Ryan Haruta score on the open goal, only to be followed twenty seconds later by a Cougar goal with 6 attackers crashing the Lambeth net. The 5 - 4 victory for the Lancers had all the feel of a playoff contest and promises to provide some entertaining hockey in January.
