Tough Game at Ilderton Blue
This game has been the most challenging match of the season so far. The Ilderton Blue boys showed up ready to play.
The first period was a battle where both teams had to fight hard for the puck, but were never able to pierce the net at either end.
Still, our boys kept taking the aggression to their opponent’s area, as usual, and were able to score in minute 5 of the second period by the hands of #10 Mark B. Ilderton did not want to stay behind and tied the game after a scuffle in front of the Lambeth net with 5 minutes to go in the same period.
The third period started good for the Lancers, for within the first minute #15 Tyler S. skated the puck all the way to the Ilderton end where he was able to put it behind their keeper. The remaining of the game was back and forth in what became a very exciting match. The game was almost tied by the local team with 2 minutes to go with a hard shot to the lower corner but Lambeth net minder #30 Dale A. was able to throw his pad in front of the puck to keep our team ahead. Tyler S. added an empty netter with 8 seconds to go to seal the deal and allow the very excited Lambeth fans on the bleachers to breath again.
All in all, it was a great effort by the whole team.
