The Lancers started strong defeating the three opposing teams in the round robin. The first game against Woolwich ended up with a final score of 5 to 1 for Lambeth. Later, Lambeth faced and defeated Clinton 6 to 1.
In between games, the players and staff went for a team dinner at a local restaurant where one of the players was treated to a birthday celebration (even though his birth date is not until July).
The last game of the round robin, against Delhi, quickly became a flashback of the 3rd game of the semi-final round against South Huron as some of their players just went ballistic when they saw themselves being eliminated from the tournament. At the end, the Lancers came on top with a final score of 7 to 1.
Lambeth faced Penetang in Sunday’s semifinal game. Both teams started strong and were able to keep the first period scoreless. The second period was all Lambeth as our team was able to put four unanswered goals in the Penetang net. The Lancers scored one more goal in the third to round the score to 5 – 0.
The Final game against the host team did not go as the team had expected. Paris quickly got ahead in the scoring race and Lambeth was not able to respond. At the end, the locals got the win and the championship with a score of 6 to 1.
