The
Lambeth NY Rangers Tyke team entered the
Six Nations Friendship Gathering Tournament in
Ohswegan on the February 18th weekend.
The tournament was set up as a round robin with 4 division championship games on the Sunday. Throughout the weekend we played a total of 4 games facing teams from
Tillsonburg, Six Nations, Port Dover and
Embro. The tournament started off with some tough competition from the Tillsonburg team giving our players the opportunity for a good skate playing against a team of children that were all of the older age group, losing 8-1. The games that followed were victorious for
Lambeth, winning 5-2 and 12-1over Six Nations and Port Dover respectively. The
Division B Championship on Sunday against Embro proved Lambeth had a competitive team winning 13-0. The children were all excited to be in the finals and it showed in the dressing room. A fantastic time was had by all, from the tournament goody-bags, MVP awards after each game, the team lunch, to the trophy ceremony – truly a weekend for the players to remember!
Congratulations Lambeth New York Rangers!
