Peewee Girls Tryouts
Hello Hockey Families!

My name is Mike Brooks and will be the Head Coach for the 2014-2015 hockey season.  Over the next week we will be holding tryouts for the competitive team.  Hopefully you all are able to make it out to them.  There will be three tryouts at the following times at Nichols Arena.

Tuesday May 20, 6:30 – 7:30 pm;

Friday May 23, 7:30 – 8:30 pm;

Saturday May 24, 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

There will be many factors evaluated in the selection of the competitive team.  These factors will include but will not be limited to the player’s skill level, effort, attitude and teamwork.  I truly believe that these four factors are the foundation of any successful team.  We will be looking for players who will be willing to try their best, play well as a team and most importantly we want girls that want to have FUN!  Having fun is truly the primary reason why all of us get involved in this great game.  This season will be no exception.

As this will be a competitive team, there will be certain commitment expectations.  It will be important that the girls not only attend practices but come to practices prepared to put forth the same effort that is required in a game.  In the many years of hockey that I have been involved in, it has always become apparent that the level of effort a player puts forth in practice mirrors the effort they end up putting forth in a game.

For the tryouts next week, I ask that all of the girls be at the rink 30 minutes prior to the start time.  They will be given a jersey when they arrive to wear.  I also ask that the girls be fully dressed and ready to go on the ice 10 minutes before that start of the tryout so that I can come into the dressing room and discuss the expectations for the day.  Please ensure your daughters have a water bottle at the tryout.

Thanks and have an enjoyable long weekend.
