Hello Lancer families!
In anticipation of the 2023-2024 hockey season, MHAL is looking
for volunteers to fill several director positions on the Executive Board.
Brief descriptions of the open positions are listed below. Detailed role descriptions are available upon
request.
IP Convenor
- Responsible for the U7, U8 & U9 programs
- Liaise between the MHAL Executive and the U7, U8 & U9 divisions
- Work with the Ice Convenor with respect to ice schedule
- Ensure the MHAL U7, U8 & U9 programs conform to the ‘current’ OMHA Rules, Regulations and Guidelines including Player Pathway requirements
- Address any Parent questions or concerns
Local League Convenor
- Act as the Delegate for all MHAL Local League Teams
- Responsible for allocation of game times to all Local League Divisions
- Represent the Association at all meetings of the governing body, Local League and/or Referees
- Work with the Ice Convenor and OMHA Convenor with respect to ice schedule
- Ensure OMHA requirements with regards to Roster and Players Cards are met
- Ensure the MHAL Local League programs conform to the ‘current’ OMHA Rules, Regulations and Guidelines including any Player Pathway requirements
- Address any Parent questions or concerns
Development Coordinator
- Draft and deliver a coaches’ handbook to all coaches at the beginning of the season
- Facilitate coaches’ meetings throughout the season
- Coordinate Player Development Programs pre/in/post season for all age groups in Local League and Rep
- Research and share coaching course opportunities (outside of the required coaching certifications) to support coach development
In order to ensure a smooth transition, current members will ensure an appropriate level of support and training is provided ahead of the start of the season.
