Lancer families!
In
anticipation of the 2024-2025 hockey season, MHAL is looking for volunteers to
fill several positions on the Executive Board.
Brief
descriptions of the open positions are listed below. Detailed role
descriptions are available upon request.
Secretary
- Act
as an Officer in accordance with the MHAL Constitution;
- Record
or delegate the recording of the minutes of General Meetings of the
Membership and Executive Committee Meetings and ensure that Association
records are regularly and properly kept
- Be
responsible for receiving and distributing all correspondence received or
sent by the Association and all communications within the Association;
- Recommend
policy to the Executive regarding internal and external communications of
the Association unless specifically noted elsewhere;
- Give
notice of meeting to MHAL members as required;
- Distribute
minutes of MHAL meetings
- Responsible
for determining storage criteria of correspondence and records;
Representative (Rep) Convenor
- Act
as the Delegate for all MHAL Rep Teams
- Responsible
for allocation of game times to all Rep Divisions
- Represent
the Association at all meetings of the governing body (OMHA), Shamrock
Hockey League, and/or Referees Association
- Work
with the Ice Convenor, OWHA Convenor, and Local League Convenor with
respect to ice schedule
- Ensure
OMHA and MHAL requirements are met with regards to Rosters and
Players
- Ensure
the MHAL Rep programs conform to the ‘current’ OMHA Rules, Regulations and
Guidelines including any Player Pathway requirements
- Address
any Parent questions or concerns
Equipment Manager
- Be
responsible for all MHAL equipment;
- Be
responsible for the buying and repairing of all equipment for MHAL with
the approval of the Executive Committee, in accordance with any
established Rules of Operation
- Ensure
that all equipment borrowed from MHAL is signed out and properly recorded;
- Ensure
that equipment not returned and which has impact on the status of a
“member in good standing”, is brought to the attention of the Association
Registrar and Executive Committee;
- Be
responsible for creating and maintaining a complete and detailed inventory
list which will include the details of equipment allocation;
To ensure a
smooth transition, current members will ensure an appropriate level of support
and training is provided ahead of the start of the season.
