Lancer Girls Hockey Success in St. Thomas
The
Lambeth Lancer Girls invaded the
St. Thomas Panther on the Prowl hockey tournament this past weekend with amazing success!
All four Lancer teams participating this weekend made their way to the
championship final in the C divisions.
Novice C’s made an epic comeback in the semifinals being down 5-2 in the third period and coming back to win in OT 6-5 to earn their chance in the final! They fell just short to a very good team to earn Silver.
Atom C’s won their unprecedented third straight tournament gold in their final. Wallaceburg kept this one close going into the third tied 1-1 until the Atom Girls turned up the heat and cruised to a very impressive 5-2 win!
Peewee C’s fought very hard in the semifinals and won a very close 2-0 game on a late empty netter to earn their spot in the finals. They came out flying in the final and went up 2-0 early and held on tight for a very competitive 2-1 win!
Bantam C’s brought their best performance of the year in the semifinal game winning a very close and fast game 2-0 securing their spot in the final. They ran into a really good team in the final. They competed hard and pushed the pace late but couldn’t solve a very impressive goaltending performance at the other end and fell short 3-1.
On behalf of the Lambeth Lancers' organization, we are very proud of how well all of our athletes performed and represented themselves on and off the ice.
Great job girls!
