Hello Lambeth Minor Hockey families,
Your Minor Hockey Association of Lambeth (MHAL) Executive has been working hard to get the hockey season started and players back on the ice in a safe manner. Despite the current climate, we want to make sure players still have a fun and exciting hockey year, allowing players to continue their development pathway. MHAL has a plan for the season based on safety protocols from Hockey Canada, OHF, OMHA, OWHA and the London Middlesex Health Unit.
Please note that all plans are fluid and could change.
Play Structure and Registration:
Following the OHF guidelines, there will be no try outs or competitive play until a later date in the season. It is anticipated, but not certain, tryouts and competitive play may resume in late 2020 or early 2021.
At this time the MHAL will be offering the following divisional programs.
U9 (2012-2013): For players 7 and 8 years of age OMHA and OWHA Programs
U11 (2010-2011): For players 9 and 10 years of age OMHA and OWHA Programs
U13 (2008-2009): For players 11 and 12 years of age OMHA and OWHA Programs
U15 (2006-2007): For players 13 and 14 years of age OMHA and OWHA Programs
U18 (2003-2005): For players 15, 16 and 17 years of age OMHA and OWHA Programs
We regret to advise that the MHAL initiation program for players six years of age or younger will not be offered for Session 1 but we anticipate the Initiation program to be offered as part of Session 2. This will be confirmed at a later date.
This season, players will be registering for Sessions. Session 1 will commence September 26th and run for 8 weeks. In Session 1 we will be offering intra-squad development which means we will be creating balanced teams by division and skill as determined by registrations and 2019-20’s level of play. Teams will be organized into bubbles of approximately 50 players of the same age division. Each bubble will only play with each other for both developmental skates and game play.
Session 1 – 8 weeks
Weeks 1 - 2: Developmental Skates
Weeks 3 - 8: Two developmental sessions per week plus One 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 Game Play per week
Registration with payment will open on September 7th and close at midnight on September 20th. All players will have to re-register and make the full payment for session 1. Any credits on a players account will be used. Register early as space for each team this season will be limited. The cost for session 1 will be $350.00. Each team will have 3 hours of ice per week. More information about how to register can be found on the website within the Return to Play MHAL RTP FAQ menu tab, or download the PDF document from the link below:

Covid Protocols
Please note we will have strict rules on how many people can come into the arena along with a screening check that must be completed each time before a player goes on the ice. Our Covid-Coordinator – Shannon Conliffe will be sending out more information. At this time, the City of London has advised that spectators will not be permitted in City arenas until further notice.
For detailed COVID protocols for teams and arenas, please visit the MHAL Return to Play tab on the Lambeth Minor Hockey website. On this tab, we are happy to also provide a FAQ for your reference.
