Registration Reminder: REGISTER EARLY!!! If we are forced to restrict team
sizes again as per City, Health Unit and Hockey Canada guidelines, we will go
by date of completed registration. All future dates/plans are subject to
change. Similar to previous seasons, if divisions fill up please,
Registrars will start wait lists as
required.
MAJOR NOVICE REP WILL CONTINUE FOR ITS FINAL SEASONAlthough earlier in the year OMHA was set to remove the competitive program from this birth year, the decision was deferred until next season. If you have a child born in 2013 who wishes to play Competitive Hockey for the 2021/2022 season, please register and pay for the Rep tryout.
PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
Parents/guardians registering their players are required to read through this material prior to registering. By registering for the season, the parent/guardian acknowledges their understanding of, and agreement with all the following:
Online Schedules and Information: Please check our website regularly for updates regarding tryouts, schedules, and other pertinent information. Information regarding funding programs, mandatory hockey equipment, and schedules can all be found on the website. Once the season has started, it is the parent’s responsibility to check their schedule weekly. MHAL is not responsible for missed games due to scheduling changes. Sign up for text reminders, customizable team calendars, etc.
MHAL Policies: All Members of the MHAL, including parents, players and volunteers are required to familiarize themselves with, and abide by all MHAL policies, including the MHAL Code of Conduct. The documents can be found on our website home page on the right under Online Libraries.
Rowans Law: Parents/Guardians are required to familiarize themselves with concussion protocol. This can be reviewed at the time of registration.
Covid & Return to Play Guidelines: Please review all required information for Covid that will be updated and posted closer to the start of the season - we will continue to post any relevant updated information as it becomes available. We do not make the rules for these guidelines; OMHA, OWHA Hockey Canada, Ontario Hockey Federation determine the rules that our centre must abide by. The City of London and Middlesex Health Unit have additional rules that must be followed in order to use City facilities. It is extremely difficult to determine what the future months will bring - and even more challenging to write a one-size-fits-all policy/process to cover off every situation we may encounter. Please be patient and respectful to our volunteers as we navigate this evolving situation along with everyone else.
Possible Covid Restrictions: Unfortunately, we do not know what the future holds. It is nearly impossible to plan a season knowing things may need to be amended at moments notice. This may include last minute team changes including roster sizes, spectator rules, health screening rules, ice schedule changes including limiting amount of ice time if necessary, waitlisted players, etc. At this time we are not aware of any vaccination requirements for players or spectators, but like everything else, this could change. Please bear with us as we try to find the best possible solutions to whatever we encounter along the way.
Hockey Canada/OMHA/OWHA: To date, we have not received any updated guidance or parameters from OMHA/OWHA or Hockey Canada on how our season will look, how tournaments will work, team photos, etc. Continue to check the website for more information as we get closer to the start of our season.
Tryout Schedules and process will be posted on our website once ice and scheduling is confirmed. Any player/goalie wishing to try out for a REP (Boys) or B (Girls) team must be signed up and paid in full, to be able to participate. Tryout fees apply. Please ensure you add the Tryout Fee for each player wishing to tryout when registering online. The MHAL is committed to following best practice precautionary measures for player safety relating to COVID-19 for try outs. More information will be posted as we near the start of the season
Returning Players can register online until the close of registration, or until the division is full, whichever comes first. Please take the time to verify/update contact information on your player’s Hockey Canada or RAMP profile.
Respect in Sport Parent Program: OMHA mandates that one parent/guardian of every player complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program. Due to OMHA regulations, players will not be allowed on the ice for any MHAL event until this course has been completed. There is a separate charge for this course, paid to the Respect Group, which manages the online program.
Special Requests: The MHAL does not accept special requests to play for coaches or with friends. Our focus is ensuring players are placed appropriately according to skill level, in an attempt to ensure every player in the association has a fair and equitable season.
Refund Policy: Please refer to the Refund Policy posted on our website
