Lefroy Icebreaker Tournament Champions
The Lambeth Lancers U18 LL3 team bested 11 other competitive U18 local league teams from across the province to take home the Lefroy Icebreaker Tournament Championship on November 23, 2025!
The team went 2-0-1 in round robin action and had to watch the scoreboard late into Saturday night to confirm a spot in the semifinals. In the semis, we played the Thorold Blackhawks to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation, five minutes of sudden death three-on-three, and three rounds of a shootout. The stalemate was broken in a sudden death fourth round the shootout and we advanced to the finals. In the finals we faced some stiff competition from the Ennismore Eagles Green team, but we ultimately prevailed winning 5-2.
At the tournament, Koach Keith donated a WWE-style championship belt to be rewarded to the player of the game as determined by the player who was last awarded the belt. We hope this new tradition will be kept up for the remainder of the year.
Game MVPs include Grady S, William D, Dreylan G, Drayden D, and Bryston D. The tournament MVP was Grady S who allowed only four goals over five games. Keep an eye out for championship in the Lambeth Lancers trophy case.
Special thanks to Team Manager Stephanie for organizing our championship weekend and keeping all informed. The players look forward to more success in the Lambton Middlesex Local League and two more tournaments this season.
