Novice Girls C, 2010-2011, Girls (Lambeth Minor Hockey)

Lambeth Novice girls visited Cornell University on the weekend to play 2 games against Thompkins Girls Hockey Association Shooting Stars. The girls got to see two Cornell Women's games and play the Shooting Stars twice. The Lancers defeated the shooting stars 1-0 in a half outdoor rink and 4-1. The girls were given a tour of the Cornell dressing room and got to meet with some of the players including Canadian Olympian Rebeeca Johnston.

The girls continue to improve and it showed today.  Kyra Morin had a hat trick and Arianna Santagapita scored the other goal.  Grace Wolf played well at centre for the first time today.  The defense played another strong game in front of our star goalie Sierra Brown.  Claudia Boker and Katie Kvas came very close to getting their first goals today.  Keep up the good work girls.

The girls played their best team game to date!  Kyra Morin had a hat trick, followed up by a 2 goal performance by Arianna Santagapita.  Grace Wolf and Katie Kvas also chipped in goals.  The girls played some solid defense and were very aggressive for the puck all afternoon long.  Sierra Brown made 25 saves for her first shut out of the season.  Emma Raney stopped a breakaway and has continued to improve in her skating.  Great job girls!!!!!

Sierra Brown made close to 30 saves in a loss for the Novice girls.  Kyra Morin got her first 2 goals of the season.  The girls played well against a veteran team from Lucan, that boasts 11 returning players. 

The Novice girls travelled to Petrolia on Saturday and got their first point of the year in a 1-1 tie.  Grace Wolf scored her second goal of the year and Sierra Brown helped keep the tie with some stellar goaltending.  The team played some great defense with Emma Elijah stopping a sure goal and Grace Moir, Katie Kvas, Claire Brooks, and Regan Saunders were shutting down the other teams top guns.  The girls were buzzing in the other teams end with Arianna Santagapita and Kate Stenning almost connecting on a nice pass from behind the net.  Keep up the good work girls!
