The
Lambeth Atom B Girls Hockey team hosted the
Sudbury Lady Wolves this past weekend.
Sudbury travelled for 6 hours on a coach bus to take on the
Lancers at
Budweiser Gardens Friday night
Jan. 4th, 2013. Each bench had a special guest coach!
The
Lancers had former
Cornell University and
Team Canada goalie (and Lauren daSilva's aunt)
Amanda Mazzotta, and the
Lady Wolves had former
Cornell University and
Team Canada Olympic Gold Medal winner
Rebecca Johnston! Amanda and Rebecca spoke to the girls before the game, and signed autographs and took pictures with both teams.
When the girls took the ice, the strong and very fast Lady Wolves came out flying, but the Lancers held them to a 2-2 tie, Lancer goals scored by Kyra Morin and Reagan Sanders.
After our game a couple of Knight's come to meet us, they autographed Knight's wear for us, and posed for pictures with our girls and their siblings! We then watched the Knight's game in style, in the Scotiabank Suite.
On Saturday, we hosted the Lady Wolves at home, the Lancers played their best game of the year and won 5-1. Lancer goals scored by Arianna Santagapita (2), Abby TenPas, Lauren daSilva, and Kyra Morin.
