Tryouts
My name is Gary Kukoly and I am the coach of the girls Midget B/BB team. I have coached girls hockey for over 10 years from tyke to Bantam and house league to AA level.
My coaching Philosophies are KIS (keep it simple) and have fun. I believe that if a teenage girl is having fun they will solidify their love for the game and will therefore want to learn and develop naturally. I use a fore checking system based on a moving triangle. Defense is taught as zone positioning (box and one) keeping the puck to the outside of the zone. The break-out will develop from the zone; with wingers and center swing deep. One of the hardest tactics to teach is reading and reacting, which is key to any strategy.
The tryouts dates are:
Tuesday May 20th 7:30-8:30pm Nichols B arena
Friday May 23rd 8:30-9:30pm Nichols B arena
Saturday May 24th 8-9pm Nichols B arena
If you are trying out at another association and will not be attending our tryouts, can you please let me know. As of now we have enough girls to support two teams, most likely a B/BB and a C team. Also, if you are coming to Lambeth this year from another association, you will need to have a current Permission to Skate form with you in order to go on the ice for tryouts.
