The
OHF has recently announced the removal of residential restrictions for
OMHA/Boys hockey across the province, allowing players to move freely and play
anywhere from age U10 and above. This change creates new opportunities for
players to explore different teams and leagues, expanding their options for
development and growth.
You
can find more details about this decision on the OHF website here:
https://ohf.on.ca/player-movement-faqs/After
careful discussion, and in alignment with the OHF’s decision, the executive
board of the Minor Hockey Association of Lambeth (MHAL) has decided to embrace
this positive change. While some organizations may choose to maintain internal
borders or limit the number of “outside” players they accept, we are proud to
open our doors to all minor hockey players across the province.
This
decision will provide more kids the chance to participate in B and BB level
hockey within our region, allowing MHAL to continue growing and delivering
high-quality hockey experiences for all players. We’re looking forward to
welcoming even more talent and fostering an inclusive and exciting environment
for the entire community!
We
are thrilled to announce some exciting changes for next year:
- Spring tryouts will be
held for our Boys/OMHA rep teams (U9MD still pending decision by OHF)
- Skills development
sessions will be available at no cost for all teams
- Our goalie development
program will continue
- We’re expanding coaching
resources and support to help coaches enhance the player experience and
further develop their own skills
We
encourage our MHAL families and players to continue striving to reach their
next level of skill, knowing that your Lambeth Lancer community is here to
support you every step of the way.
We
will be reaching out to our current teams and organizing meetings to answer any
questions you may have.
