Lambeth Midget Girls B Win 3rd Tourney of the Year!
Submitted By Chris Metron on Monday, January 13, 2020
This group of ladies showed again that hard work and determination can help achieve success in winning the Woodstock Wildcats Tournament January 3-5th, 2020.

Make that 3 for 3!!! 3 tournament wins for these ladies has not happened by chance. Congratulations goes out to each player. They consistently show that they are athletes with the skill and effort to succeed. What goal can this group achieve next? League Championship? Provincial qualification? Championship??? Nothing worth achieving ever comes easy.

Please...

This is a true TEAM where everyone contributes and the commitment to each other to give  their best effort is evident each and every game. This tournament had the girls entering on a 9 game winning streak. They made it 10 games after beating Kitchener Lady Rangers 1-0 in the opening game with the game wining goal scored by Kristen Hopkins. Mount Forest Rams put a stop to their win streak beating the Lancers 3-0 in the round robin play but this would lead to an eventual rematch in the final game. And what a final game it was. Mount Forest jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a short handed goal. The Lancers replied only a minute later as Lindsay Wellwood tied it up with a great shot stepping in from the point. The Lancers dominated play but the game remained tied and had the parents on edge until the last minute of play when Sam Merritt slid over a pass to Kate Stenning, who then passed it back to the defense on the blue line. Ella Natterer walked it in, sneaking past a couple of the Rams and roofed a shot over the goalie for the game… and… tournament winning goal!!!!

“Let’s go! Make no excuses now, I’m talking here and now, I’m talking here and now, Let’s go! Its not about what you’ve done, its about what you’re doing. It’s all about where you going, No matter where you’ve been……….Let’s Go!” (lyrics by Calvin Harris)
