Lancers Lose Game #2 in OT 4-3
In a game that saw the Lancers tie it each of the three time the Rockets went ahead, sudden death overtime doesn't allow for the same opportunity. The result for the Lancers was a 4-3 overtime loss to the visiting Strathroy Rockets and more important, they are now down 2-0 in the best of 5 OMHA series.
Lambeth goals by Jarvis Millard, Cole Chilvers and Liam Baughman tied the game each time that the Rockets got the lead and ultimately led to a sudden death that saw the visitors out shoot the Lancers 14 to 3 in the extra period. Up to that point, the shots were even at 28 apiece. Although the Lancers scored one power play goal (Millard), they had more chances but couldn't capitalize on 8 opportunities vs 3 for the visitors.
The injury bug has certainly hit the Lancers with Mitch Chard joining the group (Haruta; D'Andrea; Harris) early in the second period with an ankle injury. Game #3 is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Gemini Sportsplex in Strathroy.
