A 'Fun' Game a 6-4 Loss to Cougars
In a game that meant nothing to either team, the Mt Brydges Cougars beat the Lancers 6-4 on Sunday night in Mt Brydges. The game developed into a 'fun' game with both teams having 'short' benches with the Cougars having only 3 extra skaters and Lambeth with 7. Lambeth opened the scoring at 13:10 of the opening period with Liam Baughman scoring with assists going to a pair of Coles, Chilvers and Marshall. The Lambeth lead quickly evaporated by a pair of Mt Brydges goals, one by call up Ryan Griffin and by Paul Toolers. Baughman's second goal tied it up but a pair of goals late in the frame, gave the Cougars a 4-2 lead after 2 periods of play.
Goals by Kolten Marsh and Riley Gilmore early in the third tied it at 4's but two late goals gave Mt Byrdges a well earned 6-4 victory. Lambeth outshot the Cougars 35-27. Only three penalties were called in the fast skating game all going to Mt Brydges.
