Another One Goal Loss Eliminates Lancers From The OMHA's
The Lambeth Major Midgets lost another one goal game and were eliminated from the OMHA Playdowns by the Strathroy Rockets on Saturday at the Gemini Sportsplex. Rocket captain Mike Sharpe scored with 3:18 remaining in the 3rd period, a goal which proved to be both the game and series winner. Justin McDougall had scored the Lambeth goal on a power play late in the 2nd period to tie the game after some gutsy work behind the Strathroy net by Liam Baughman.

All three games of the series were one goal victories for the Rockets with game #2 going into sudden death. Injuries to a number of Lancers, the most recent to Ryan Haruta, Josh D'Andrea and Mitch Chard certainly didn't help the Lambeth cause but strong final or overtime periods in each of the games by Strathroy suggested that the Rockets were the better team. Strathroy now moves on to play the winner of the Kingsville-Wallaceburg series while Lambeth will now work toward the Shamrock Championship.
