Bantam LL 1, 2011-2012, LMLL (Lambeth Minor Hockey)

After losing 4 in a row with only 1 goal in for "for column", the flood gates finally opened for the Bantam team.  The team on the receiving end was Alymer 1.  Down 3-0 just over 4 minutes into the game, the team simply did not panic.  Justin Buchanan got the team on the board with a short handed goal and the team never looked back. 

The first two periods in today's game vs the Dorchester Dragons was not the style of game we have become a custom to.  The team did not finish checks, were losing puck battles along the boards and certainly did not seem like a team that wanted to play.  After two periods the team was down 2-1 with Kyle Kenny scoring the lone Lancer goal.  With the coaching staff addressing some key issues during the 2nd period intermission, the result was a much better performance.  

With the Bantam boys playing their nemesis, Port Stanley Sailors 2 in the first game of the John Henry Tournament, they were looking to finally steal a win away from a team that has not lost in regular season play.  This would not be the case as Lambeth fell 6-1 despite solid play from goaltender Ryan Smeets.  This loss sent the Bantam team to the Consolation Division.

Two more games this weekend and two more victories.  The Bantam boys pushed their unbeaten streak to 6 games and have now won 5 in a row.  On Saturday the team played against St. Marys Rock and handled them with relative ease by beating the team 6-3.  Leading the way for the Lancers was Kyle Kenny with three points (Goal and 2 assists).  Other goal scorers: Evan Fretter, Kurtis Van Dommelen, Nick Brown, Hayden Laird and Justin Buchanan. John Shore chipped in with two assists. Robert Carter won his 5th of the season.

The Bantam boys have been playing with confidence and it is adding to wins.  With solid play from the net out, the Bantam Lancers are 3 wins and a tie since the Ingersoll tournament.  On Saturday December 10th, the Lancers battled the Dorchester Dragons.
