A Tale of Two Cities (Schomberg and Vaughn)
In the Dickens classic, dear readers, if I'm not mistaken, a group of nerds start their own fraternity when they are picked on by a much "cooler" group of college jocks and cheerleaders.  Much hilarity ensues, with both sides really seeing who can have more fun at the others' expense.  A true Dickens classic.  This same theme couldn't have been more true at the Schomberg tournament as the question was raised, "who had more fun?", the boys (jocks) or the nerds (the parents).

I think it would best be served if we did a simple comparison.  The boys won the tournament...excellent.  The parents didn't get kicked out of the hotel (Thanks to the smooth talking of one Patrick Pigeon - who knew he spoke Russian).  Even so far.  The boys scored 41 goals in 4 games (Moir line - 42%, Troop line - 32%, Reif line - 27%, the rest Cooper Kelly), while only giving up 6 (Ty had a 0.68 goals against)....awesome.  The parents had 97 ryes served, 11 noise complaints, music trivia that ended up 67-66 boys, and one dancing Kung-Fu Panda (Gap).  Edge....parents.  Simon Moir had 13 points, Troop 10, Nelson, Reif and Pigeon 9, Graham 8, Kelly 6 (including a hat trick), Irwin, Santagapita and Dundas 4, and Smale with 2.  They also had 238 mini stick games and a late night, 5 floor game of manhunt.  Parents didn't have any, but survived a team pool party that looked like something out of Caddyshack and sounded like a 747 taking off.  Edge the boys.  The boys played their best hockey in the final game, with the Reif line of Cameron, Charlie and Isaac doing most of the damage with 4 goals in a 7-2 victory over Newcastle.  Highlights included a Charlie Graham breakaway goal wearing a Newcastle player like a cape, Charlie finding Noah for a goal with a sweet pass and Isaac, well playing like a scud missile, forechecking his heart out.  Matt Milne, Madskillz Basilio and Logan Slota also shut the high octane offense of Newcastle down with timely pinching and a strong effort.  The great wall of Tie-Na did what he is paid to do by making timely saves, especially when the game was close early on.  Result - championship.  The parents had many timely conversations, including;  the state of Pakistan's nuclear weapons development, exactly what is a lemming and how can you cook it, Oprah Winfrey - sexy or not, 60 seconds to discuss and most of the women opening their hearts on how they won their man (my favorite by far).  Edge and final victors....Nerds!(parents).  There were far too many fans of the game to discuss in this forum, but loyal readership please feel free to contact the aforementioned hotel, as they have full video surveillance on most of the highlights.
