Road Warriors Romp Then Stomp
Hallowe'en is just around the corner and this sports-reporter has some ideas for costumes for the coaches of the Novice B boys.  Hopefully Coach Gap and Coach Pudge could show up as the Road Warriors, Animal and Hawk of late 90's WWE fame, because the boys were all that and more this past week-end in their games against St.Marys and Wallaceburg.  Dear readers, just think of those two, all bulging biceps and face paint.......I dare say YES!

Friday night saw the boys win 4-2 in St.Marys, the score not quite reflecting the dominating Lambeth performance.  St. Marys jumped out quickly scoring just seconds in, the boys suffering from car legs and most (some) of the parents still in the parking lot tailgating.  Being behind early fired up the boys and first period markers by youngsters Cameron Reif and Noah Nelson had the crowd and the boys back in the game.  Assists went to Matt Milne and Josh Troop.  St. Marys tied the score 2-2 on a nifty rush but Lambeth quickly pushed back, holding the puck constantly in the St.Marys end.  Lambeth went up 3-2 on Simon Moir's tally, assisted by Parker Pigeon, then went up by two thanks to Josh Troop, helped out by Noah Nelson and Cooper Kelly.  The third period was all Lambeth, and if not for the strong play of the St. Marys goalie, the score could have been much higher.  Fan of the night goes to Sean Basilio, the best human GPS through constant detours, a sports - writer could ask for.
Quick loyal readership, name three fun things to do in Wallaceburg on a Saturday afternoon.  How about a stroll through the historic downtown, candle making with Aunt Edna at Rosie's Tearoom or a visit to Canada's only Soybean Sculpture museum?  Or how about a 13-0 Lambeth victory!  The goals came fast and furious with many Lancers finding the scoresheet.  "Iron Curtain" Smale had two, "Stats-Filler" Milne had 2 (with a helper) and The Hammer, Isaac Irwin had one (along with 2 assists) for the Lancers.  Other scorers were, Josh Troop with 2 (plus 2 assists), Simon Moir with three (3 assists = 6 points!), and Dylan Dundas, Parker Pigeon and Cameron Reif with one each.  Other assists went to Matteo Santagapita with 3, Charlie Graham with 2, and Dylan Dundas, Parker Pigeon and Cooper Kelly chipping in with one.  Next time rent me an abacus, spreadsheet software and Stephen Hawking because I'm done.  It was great to see the defence of "Roundhouse" Slota and "Madskillz" Basilio play so well.  The goaltending of Ty "I have two last names, so two nicknames, you pick......Great Wall of TIE-na or I'll shut you down Brown" Brown-Nevin was stellar and produced Lambeth's first shut out.  Fan of the night goes to Terry, who easily made the best candle at Aunt Edna's.
