Hot Third Period Downs the Sailors
Like a precursor to Tropical Storm Sandy, the Novice B Lancer boys beat a very game Port Stanley squad last Tuesday night.  The game was a back and forth affair for two periods with both teams skating well.  In the third, however, Lambeth took over and sunk the sailors with an all around team effort.

Goals from Josh Troop, assisted by Noah Nelson, and Simon Moir, assited by Dylan Dundas and Parker Pigeon had Lambeth off to a hot start.  Port Stanley came back on two fine rushes by a player this sports reporter can't quite remember, but he was good.  Twice that Sailor went crow's nest (or is it poop deck) on the GREAT WALL of TIE-NA and the score was tied.  A second period marker by Cameron Reif, set up by linemates Charlie Graham and Isaac Irwin had Lambeth clinging to a two period lead like a dolphin in a gill net.  The third period can only be described as, "Deadliest Catch without the crabs", as the sailors ran into a fired up storm of Lambeth players.  Dylan Dundas (with two), Simon Moir, Josh Troop (with two more to finish the hatty), and Matteo Santagapita all scored in the third making the final 9-2.  Assists in the third went to Noah Nelson (2), Simon Moir (2), Parker Pigeon (2), Josh Troop (2), and Cooper Kelly and Cole Smale with one apiece.  Strong play by the defence kept most shots by Port Stanley to the outside with Ty Brown-Nevin stopping any and all that got through.  The streak stays alive at 9!
