Mitchell Tournament Champions 2011!!!
The Lambeth Lancers captured the Mitchell Tournament title with an impressive 6 straight wins! It was truly a complete team effort in each and every game and the Peewee Lancers played some of their best hockey of the season winning their first tournament of the year.
It was a grueling 3 days for Lambeth playing two games each day against some very difficult competition. The Lancers battled through every game and found a way to win, including an exciting double overtime semi-final victory in which they were forced to play 2 men short for the last 30 seconds of the first overtime period and minute and a half of the second overtime fighting off the BCH Ice Dog attack again and again, and Rowe stonewalling the Lambeth goal stopping one Ice Dog shot from point blank diving across the net and reaching out to glove the puck, making a save that I still have no idea how he got to that puck in time, before winning it 3 on3 with 44 seconds remaining!!!
Congratulations to all players for an incredible weekend of hockey. You should all be very proud of what you accomplished in Mitchell, the entire coaching staff is proud of you and thrilled at the effort and determination that was displayed by everyone!
Keep working hard and working together and we are going to have a very successful season!! Big game for us on Tuesday night at home against our rivals the Mt Brydges Cougars.
