Yawner in Wallaceburg
Ninety minutes down the 401 seemed an eternity, but the 45 minutes required for the Lancers to defeat Wallaceburgh 13 - 1 seemed to take longer. Wallaceburg had 6 player including their goal tender suspended for the Saturday night match, courtesy of a tournament game earlier in the day in Mooretown.
One of the regular skaters for the Lakers donned the pads in a heroic attempt that fell flat as Lambeth scored 6 times in the opening period. A shot from the Lambeth side of centre ice that lit the goal lamp signalled the Lancer coaches to power down the offence.
It has been a long time since since any of the Lancers have received instructions to shoot wide or hit the goalie. The visiting Lancers were gracious in a game completely devoid of emotion that could have easily been won by 4 converted touchdowns.
The game will be recorded as number 7 in an undefeated streak that stretches back all the way to October 8th. The Lancers will be challenged to refocus as the always potent Strathroy Rockets visit Lambeth next Saturday night.
