Lambeth vs The Rock
The boys in burgundy had to scale more than just The Rock on Wednesday night, as the Homer referees saw fit to penalize the visiting Lancers for 10 more minutes than the home squad. Despite the power play advantage time for The Rock the Lancers managed to finish the game with just 2 tallies less than St. Marys on the shot clock.
The game saw a spirited effort from AP Bandon Neves who was guilty of crashing the net on more than 1 occasion. Booming howitzers from Casey Coyle had the St. Marys goalie breathing a sigh of relief in the early season going.  Mr. Coyle will no doubt lower his bomb sights in the weeks ahead, and other netminders will not be as fortunate.

The game was highlighted by a Kyle Mackay penalty shot. Despite the seeming eternity that #7 took in his approach to the net, soft hands prevailed and the red light underscored his daring dangle.

Special mention for this game goes to Dylan Nash who served most steadfastly as an understudy to the rookie coaching staff. Were it not for the quick actions of Mr. Nash in spotting a lack of spare sticks on the bench, poor Liam Baughman would have finished the second period with a display of his soccer skills.
