Lancers Knot the Dragons
Back to back games had more than a few players with aches and pains, as the Lancers took on the fast skating Dorchester Dragons 24 hours after a very physical game in Mooretown on Friday.

The Lancers matched the pace of the Dragons in the early going, and opened the scoring when Liam Baughman jumped off the bench to receive a perfect power play pass from Kyle Mackay. The Lancers tallied again as Liam was thwarted on a break-away attempt, but was backed up by a bulldozer in Nick Hilborne who ploughed the puck through the Dorchester netminder.

The second period was dominated by penalties as the referees worked on their interpretation of the new OMHA head-checking rules. The third period couldn't finish fast enough for the Lancer coaching staff who only counted 10 able bodied players in the dying moments of the game. The Dragons sensing fatigue, pushed the pace with an offensve barrage that saw them equal the score in the third.

Were it not for Ian Gough between the pipes for the Lancers, the Dragons might have gone home victorious. Ian withstood the onslaught of the third, and turned in his best performance of the season to date. When a brilliant defensive play by Bryant Francis was construed to be a foul by the officials, the home town crowd were livid. Ian turned their jeers into cheers, as he made the highlight of the night with a well-timed poke check to deny a Dorchester goal.

The Lancers continue to face a tough schedule as they prepare for a road game in Petrolia next Saturday.
